VALORANT Mobile Is Coming—Here’s What We Know So Far
After years of anticipation, Riot Games has finally confirmed that VALORANT Mobile is entering its closed beta phase, with the first wave of testing happening in China. Co-developed with Lightspeed Studios—the team behind PUBG Mobile—the mobile adaptation aims to stay true to the high-skill, tactical gameplay that defined its PC success.
The goal? Deliver the full VALORANT experience on mobile screens without compromising precision, pacing, or competitive balance.
In a recent developer update, Riot’s Anna Donlon and Andy Ho emphasized that this isn’t just a stripped-down version of the game—it’s a platform-native reimagining built for touchscreen controls, with optimized performance even for mid-range devices.
What’s especially exciting is that the very first VALORANT Mobile tournament is already locked in. Set to take place in July 2025 in Qingdao, China, the event is backed by OnePlus and will feature players battling it out on mobile for the first time at an official level. Riot has also released the minimum phone specs to ensure a smooth beta experience, with more device compatibility updates expected as the rollout continues.
While the closed beta is limited to China for now, global players can expect more news—and likely more testing phases—soon.
This isn’t just a mobile port. It’s the next big leap in tactical mobile esports. And it’s about to begin.
